There is no universal countdown
Timing depends on the starting website, competition, the work required and how quickly changes reach production. Avoid treating a fixed date as a ranking guarantee. Ask which assumptions support any forecast.
Separate delivery from search response
Account access, tracking checks and prioritised work are observable milestones. Search engines then need to process changes, and customer demand can affect the outcome. Record when fixes went live before assessing their effect.
Agree meaningful review points
Review completed work, unresolved dependencies and leading indicators together. Then assess relevant enquiries or sales with appropriate attribution limits. Compare like periods where seasonality matters and avoid judging a campaign by one daily ranking movement.
Ask when the plan should change
A missed dependency may require a revised sequence; a measurement problem needs investigation. Ask for a reasoned explanation when activity produces no useful signal. Google’s SEO Starter Guide explains that changes can take different amounts of time to show an effect.
Put the guidance to work
Browse SEO agency specialisations, compare the same brief with each provider, or request SEO quotes for private administrator review. Listings are not performance guarantees. Sponsored placements are labelled.
