SEO Agencies Australia · Buyer guidance · 16 October 2026
Two SEO proposals can have similar prices and very different amounts of work behind them. Start with the scope, the people involved and the responsibilities on each side.
Separate diagnosis from delivery
A technical audit identifies problems. Fixing them may be a separate service. Ask whether the agency implements changes, briefs your developers or provides recommendations only. The same distinction applies to writing content, publishing it and maintaining it.
Understand the commercial structure
A monthly retainer can cover an ongoing programme, while a project fee may cover a defined audit or migration. Hourly consulting can suit a team that already has delivery capacity. Ask what the fee buys, how work is prioritised and how changes to scope are agreed.
Ask for a clear work plan
Look for named responsibilities, realistic dependencies and reporting that explains work completed as well as outcomes. An unexplained list of keywords is not a delivery plan. If content or authority development is included, ask how quality will be assessed and what approval you retain.
Compare the total commitment
Check setup costs, content allowances, development costs, reporting, contract length and exit terms directly with each provider. Confirm whether quoted amounts include GST. This directory does not publish agency prices or sell fixed-price SEO packages.
Write one brief for every agency
Share your website, target customers, priority services, available internal support and business goals. Comparable briefs make it easier to understand differences between proposals. Use the quote request form to record the same requirements for administrator review.
